Transformers: PHAT edition (Pretty Hot And Thick to Thin)

I have noticed of late, that for some reason, full figured celebrities are all of a sudden loosing drastic amounts of weight!

It first started with Jennifer Hudson who lost weight by following the weight watchers diet lost a staggering 80 Pounds (40 kgs) almost a whole person moving from a size 16 to a size 6!

Sara Rue, the Less than Perfect star became a Jenny Craig Spokesperson and lost 40 pounds.

Jordin Sparks also jumped on that band wagon was a size 14 and is now a size 8 through adopting a healthier lifestyle by taking up Zumba classes, portion control etc.

Famous child star actress Raven Symone who was known for her voluptuous figure lost 35 pounds which she attributes to the fact that she stopped stressing about things which reduced her over eating.

Soulfull Jill Scott lost a whooping 50 pounds (divide by 2 for kgs)  with the help of a personal trainer who helped her get fit.

One half of former group Floetry Miss Marsha Ambrosius also lost a lot of weight and is looking stunning!

It is not only women who are loosing weight, some men have jumped onto that band wagon too.

Fat Joe has shed almost 100 pounds due to health reasons.

Before and After

Mike Jones also shed a significant amount of weight, almost 100 pounds as well.

All these people claim to have lost weight the natural and healthy way, and if at all this is true, kudos to them. They must have put in so much work to look that awesome. Let us hope they can maintain their new bodies.

Twenny questions

Looks like I am somehow managing to make this a weekly routine *thumbs up*

  • Driving all week and not bashing the car.

Which moment from last week was the most memorable and why?

  • Same thing as last week, not knowing what the future holds..

What was last week’s biggest time sink?

  • I do not think so, just the regular baggage that cannot exactly be dropped. I have gotten used to it so it isn’t baggage anymore.

What have I been avoiding that needs to get done?

  • I owe my friends baby a birthday gift. What should I get a one year old little girl?!
  • I still have not gone shopping smh.

What opportunities are still on the table?

  • I still want to advance my career, but I am running out of ideas on how to achieve this..

Have any of my recent actions moved me closer to my goals?

My Funky Friday Theme Song Is

Every tear drop is a waterfall

I liked this song from the minute I heard it, it’s a different sound from the usual Coldplay so I am totally digging it.

This Weekend I

I am really craving

peace of mind, body and soul.

I wish

I never had so many things to wish for..

I hope

my mummy comes back home safe tomorrow, I really miss her.

Today’s Inspirational Quote Is

Okay I know this may not exactly be a quote, but just be as awesome as you can be 🙂

Have a Fabulous Friday!!!!

‘I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soul.’

*Insert Morgan Freeman voice*

I have never watched the movie Invictus, but for some reason these words just resonated in my head today morning.

I always keep wondering how I am meant to know what God’s plan and purpose for me is in this world. Should I wait for a sign? A push in the right direction? How do you know what a sign is?

I would like to believe God lives through me, and he will direct me towards the right path. He is the driving force behind my every decision.

Thus therefore everything that I do, every course that I choose to take, be it the right one or wrong one, must be enforced by the Lord Almighty.

I am kind of at a crossroads right now, I have no idea where I am, what I am doing and where I am going in many areas of my life, but one area particularly bothers me.

Today may be a difficult day for me, I cannot even hope for something awesome to happen because many other emotions are clogging that ability.

This is a reminder of joy, happiness, contentment, fun, sadness, tears, failure, hope, loss, fear, excitement, luck, hopelessness and many other emotions which are driving me nuts right now. Anyway I will try not to focus on the past, and to think positive.

I noticed people seem to expect a lot from me. I wish they knew how much I expect from them as well, I cannot always be expected to step up.

Pride is a terrible thing…

Good things must happen today, it is after all humpday 🙂 Wherever you are I hope you are smiling.

He has such a cute smile

My day with the elephants

Remember during last week’s TGIFriday’s post I mentioned how I was looking forward to doing something really cool this weekend?

Well a friend of mine invited me to go see baby elephants with her at The David Sheldrick Wild Life Trust on Saturday morning. The trust is situated at the KWS Banda School gate, towards Rongai and the session is usually held between 11am and 12pm.

We got a bit late and arrived there at about 11:30am, and we found the place was packed! Entry fee is 500 Kshs per person and it is advisable to go there with some form of identification.

I was really excited about going there, I originally thought I would get to interact one on one with the baby elephants, get to feed them and play with them. This was sadly not so, there were so many people, it was a struggle to get to the front of the line.

Nonetheless, the baby elephants were cute, adorable and spectacular! Turns out they have hair, all around the trunk and towards the ears. They have tough skin, and an affinity to small children as some of them tried touching them with their trunks.

At the watering hole

I was waiting for it to take flight

Look at all the people

Sharing is caring

Time to say bye bye

It nearly grabbed that kid

Time to say bye bye

(photos taken by my trusted Blackberry 🙂 I think I should christen it now that I love it so much)

These baby elephants are so intelligent. When it was time for them to go back to their pens, all the wardens had to do was to clap their hands and the elephants formed a line and walked back to their pens!

Moral of the story, there are very many cool unique things Nairobi has to offer, you should take some time out to explore Kenya.

And if you are looking for a white man, this is the place to visit 😉

7 more things to love about me

So Miss Kawiria graciously tagged me in another post and now I have to come up with 7 quirky, cool things about myself which will entertain you and wow you with my awesomeness.

  • I received a blood transfusion when I was a kid. I once heard somewhere if you have ever received blood you cannot donate? This cannot be true right? On the same note, I have never donated blood, not because of the reason I have just stated, I dunno I have just never done it before. But it’s something I must do very soon, it’s only fair…
  • I pee a lot. I even went to get checked out by a doctor, but apparently it’s my body being healthy and what not.
  • I also do not like people hearing what I am doing in the bathroom. I find it embarrassing and I really wish bathroom stalls could be made sound and smell proof.
  • The one thing I love the most about my body is my face. Though stupid zits are threatening to scar it, I think it’s not too shabby.
  • I love butterflies, not as much as Mariah Carey, that woman is obsessed. I just like butterfly jewellery, designs and if I was ever to get a tattoo, it most probably would be of a butterfly.
  • I am not a fan of Vanilla. Not that I hate it, it’s nice and all, but it is so bland. I do not understand why you would pick vanilla when there is such a wide assortment of flavours with much more razzle dazzle.
  • I am a very observant person. I will notice your new threads, new hairdo, how you pair your outfits. I can tell you what you wore every day last week. I remember the last thing you wore when I last saw you. I am not only observant when it comes to physical appearances, but behavioural patterns as well. I cannot really expound on the behavioural bit but it is largely based on social networks and social habits.

Let us see whether Savvy, I am Surburbia, I just said that, Rockhead, My turkish delight, Skewed lines and Vaalentia can top that 🙂 Tag you’re it!!

Kisses and oreos,
