It’s a rainy start to March but I am so happy a new month is finally upon us!!!

February Highlights

The first weekend of February was a lot of fun, got to spend one last weekend with my girl before she left. We went for Ethiopian which was delicious as usual, let the picture speak for itself..

We went for floodies finals, then danced all night at Harlequins which was so much fun!

This past weekend was kinda cool as well, had a fun night out at a friend’s birthday party, and met so many friends I had not seen in a while.

Meeting Russell Brand was another highlight

February downsides

I had to say farewell to 3 of my good friends this month which was really hard, I hate goodbyes.

This was just a really hard month, melancholic and tear filled with many struggles personal and work related.I am so glad it’s over

February discoveries

My mother is a very strong woman, this month I discovered just how strong she really is.

I feel felt like nothing was ever going my way, and as a result I am very afraid of having any hope.

You cannot please everybody.

I got to see how the shoe fits on the other side, and it sucks!!!

This ambiguity I sometimes portray on my blog is also confusing to me

I hate being taxed, why the hell did I have to grow up??

What I look forward to in March

Blankets and Wine this coming weekend.

I am just glad it is a new month so I am looking forward to a change of favour from the world if that makes any sense.

Man on the moon – Kid Cudi

Man on the moon

This album was really really hyped by many people so I was really excited when I finally got my hands on it. The Kanye West produced album is currently number 124 in the billboard 200.

I really like the cover art, it has a nice vibrant colour. Cudi sort of looks like Kanye a bit, what do you think?

Needless to say I was disappointed, most of the songs have the same tune, kind of monotonous in my opinion.

Is Kid Cudi a rapper or an RnB artist?? I’m confused. He does have a nice sound to him.

The only dynamic songs that stood out for me was Day & Night which had a kind of techno/ house feel to it.

Enter Galactic has a cool catchy chorus, I like it.

I loved Pursuit of happiness from the first moment I saw the video. You cannot go wrong with two hot men like Kid Cudi and Drake in black suites J The instrumentals are to die for, and the message (which is something I rarely look out for) is very encouraging, and leaves you feeling good about yourself.

Cudi Zone is the song where he seems to be rapping, so I also took a shine to it because it’s different.

Make her say featuring Common, Kanye West & Lady Gaga is a great jam which has received a lot of airplay.

The acoustics on Up Up and Away are just amazing and it’s a nice feel good track.

My worst song is In my dreams, it is such a weird song, with funny pauses.

Forever pessimistic

AAAAAArrrghhhhhh!!!!

I keep getting my hopes up, then they get crushed. Last week I saw the chance of ceasing a new opportunity, and I decided to go into it with some hope but not too high. Just found out that I did not get it, and though my future looks very bleek in my opinion, I am not breaking down and crying as would have happened if I had invested a lot of hope in it.

I do not know whether I jinxed it by not having enough faith in myself and in the situation, or whether my ply to fool the universe backfired in my face dont be enthusiastic and you might get what you want

I really do not like the current situation I am in. I am at a slump, no way to get ahead, and constantly demotivated.  Everyday I am constantly reminded of the opportunities I have not been given, and to be honest it is really taking a toll on me. I do not know what to do.

I’m beginning to think that if opportunity ever does knock, it’ll be because it has to use my bathroom.

I really need to catch a break, because my spirit is shattering into pieces, and I wonder if they can ever be put back together

Hope is no longer a word in my vocabulary, clearly it is not in my best interest to have such sentiments, it is bad for my health and my Psychy is that how it’s spelt??

So as you read this, yes pity me, and have some hope on my behalf, since I cannot afford to have any for myself.

Yes once again I sayed goodbye to someone else yesterday didn’t i tell you february is a sucky month for me?? and next week I will be saying farewell to another friend of mine too

40 Days and 40 nights

Today, Ash Wednesday, marks the beginning of Lent, which is the 40 day period leading to Easter when we commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

I am Catholic, but I have not been to church for the longest while   I feel bad that I cannot attend mass today. That kinda makes me miss school because we had a chapel there.

When my friend told me Lent starts this week, I was kinda excited, a chance to abstain from doing things that I like, and dedicate more time to God.

My fast during this Lent period is for Men. No meeting new men, flirting, playing games, getting emotionally attached, getting physical, I won’t have none of that happening for the next 40 days and 40 nights.

Unlike Josh Hartnet in the movie 40 days 40 nights, this will not be difficult for me. I will not be seeing abs and biceps when I look at men when I walk down the street, and I really doubt there will be such a strong source of temptation so it will be breezy.

I am also having an alcohol fast. I am not a drinker per se, in fact I do not crave alcohol so much. It used to be I never crave alcohol, but nowadays I see lemons I just think of tequila, and I think about Brew Bistros cocktails every time I pass Ngong Road. The last two times I went out, I got very tipsy, borderline drunk, it was fun, but I prefer being the sober party in the group.

I wanna go back to that, being sober and alcohol free, drinking fanta or water at the club. Whenever someone offered to buy me a drink, I used to ask for the money, and needless to say they refused to give me the money :p And I do not understand why someone cannot just offer to buy me a soft drink.

This Lent I definitely want to pray more, and try going to church. I need to motivate myself, my parents are no help in that area, it is there fault I do not go to church as much :p

So on Friday night when we escorted my friend to the airport, I saw a scrawny, tall, long haired white dude. He turned around and I was like

‘OMG Russell Brand!!’

and he turned around and waved at me! I was in complete and utter shock!! Russell Brand in Kenya?? and no one knew about him being here??

He actually started lining up on the queue for British Airways which was the flight my friend was on, and since my cheap ass phone Motorola L6i has a crappy, flashless, camera, I started frantically asking everyone I had come with if they had a flash enabled camera phone. Luckily my friends sister had a really nice nokia cellphone, but by the time I came to know that, Russell had moved across to another entrance.

How many times do you run into a Hollywood star in Kenya?! Like never! so I told my friend’s sister to come with me to go and ask him for a picture She is very shy, and she had no idea how I was gonna ask for a picture with him,so she was not very willing to come with, but I convinced her.

I walked up to him and said hi, and before I could even ask for a picture, he held out his hand towards me, took my hand and pulled me in for an embrace swooon He had this grey fluffy sweater on, and he just smelt nyummy, it took a lot of restraint for me not to stroke his hair or something lol. So I got my picture taken, and I coerced my friend’s sister to take a picture with him too.

I asked him why he was visiting Kenya, and he said he had come to visit some people.

Katy Perry was not here with him sadly, I love her music so I would have rushed for a picture with her too
